Neymar Jr. has reportedly transferred a substantial €150,000 to assist his former Barcelona teammate, Dani Alves, currently facing sexual assault charges. As Alves contends with legal proceedings in Barcelona, accused of assaulting a woman in a nightclub in December 2021, Neymar’s financial aid aims to cover the settlement required to navigate the case.
Amidst additional challenges, Alves’s assets are reportedly frozen due to a separate legal matter involving his ex-wife’s alimony claims. Neymar’s intervention involves a €150,000 transfer to Spanish courts, marked as ‘mitigating compensation for damage caused’ on behalf of Alves, who is now potentially looking at a nine-year prison term if found guilty.
UOL reports that Alves has appointed Gustavo Xisto, a representative of Neymar’s father’s companies, as his attorney-in-fact. The 31-year-old right-back faces a tumult of legal troubles, and only time will reveal the outcome of this complex situation. As the trial is set for February 2024, Alves remains in Barcelona, awaiting the resolution of the accusations against him.

Dani Alves has been incarcerated in Barcelona’s Brians 2 prison since January 20, 2023, following allegations of sexual assault by a 23-year-old woman in the Sutton nightclub’s reserved area bathroom.
The accuser is seeking €150,000 in compensation for “physical and psychological” consequences resulting from the alleged assault. The private prosecution is advocating for a twelve-year prison sentence for the Brazilian.
The detention period is slated to conclude with the trial commencing on February 5 at 10:00 CET, continuing through the sixth and seventh of the same month, according to the Audiencia de Barcelona.
