Who are the Favourites to Win 2024 Six Nations?

The reigning champions of the Six Nations 2023 were Ireland, clinching the Grand Slam by triumphing in all of their matches.

Since the inception of the Six Nations in 2000, France has secured victory six times, matching the six wins achieved by Wales. Ireland boasts five triumphs, while England leads the pack with seven victories.

Considering the recent track record, any of these four teams stands a strong chance of winning, as each has claimed the title at least once in the last five years.

France Favourites to Win 2024 Six Nations

On the flip side, Scotland and Italy are viewed as less likely to emerge victorious, having not secured a win since 2000. Italy, in particular, faces an underdog status, having consistently claimed the Wooden Spoon (last place) in the past eight championships and holding the dubious distinction in all but six years since their inclusion.

This year, France is the clear frontrunner, with manager Fabien Galthié eager to reclaim the Championship Trophy after the disappointment of 2023. Ireland follows closely as the second favorite, so their prowess should not be underestimated.

Despite a commendable performance in the previous year’s tournament, Italy is anticipated to finish at the bottom once again – a fitting scenario as they currently hold the record for the most Wooden Spoons in the tournament, tallying at 18, with 13 of those without a single win.
